My name is Cristina and I started Keeka Kreations. Keeka is a
nickname that was given to me by my nephew. He had a hard time saying
Cristina and he ended up saying Keeka.I have always valued handmade items and the personal touch that
they provide.
One day I didn’t have the money to buy a card to go along with a gift, but I did have a bunch of cardstock and I made my first card. On the back of the card I wrote Keeka for some humor because of those Hallmark commercials where people look at the back of the card and know that they are loved because it’s a Hallmark card. I wanted someone to see my name on the back of the card instead. Soon I was making cards to go with all my gifts and for all card-giving occasions.
At some point I started writing Keeka Kreations, writing “creations” with a “K” to be funky and have the same starting letter for alliteration. Anytime I make anything with hand I like to give it the Keeka Kreations label. It only seemed right that when I wanted a business name it would be Keeka Kreations.
My daughter was of course the reason for me making tutus. From there Keeka Kreations took off. I started toying with other ideas such as wings and wands. When others started asking me about my Kreations, I wondered if I should share them with the world. The encouragement of my family and friends helped me get the courage to apply for a business license.
